Dass Superman und die Anfänge der Justice League (in Form von Batman und Hal Jordan) nicht gleich beste Freunde werden würden, war am Ende von Justice League #1 absehbar. Dass die Auseinandersetzung etwas handgreiflicher wird, verspricht das Cover zu Justice League #2 (siehe links). Auch die Inhaltsbeschreibung deutet auf einen wortwörtlichen Schlagabtausch hin:
What happens when the World’s Greatest Detective takes on the world’s most powerful alien? You’ll find out when Batman and Superman throw down. Batman will need all his intellect, cunning and physical prowess to take on The Man of Steel.
Doch wie es aussieht, kommen Batman und Hal nicht nur bei Superman in Bedrängnis, sondern auch bei ihrem vierten männlichen Teammitglied – wenn man dem Cover zu Justice League #4 glauben darf:

Batman hat es schon nicht leicht mit dieser Justice League. Erst von Superman verprügelt und dann von Aquaman aufgespießt… Dafür scheint die Frau im Team weniger Probleme bei der Rekrutierung zu bereiten:
